drought breaks unexpectedly
hello cyber pals, just flew back from a short term mission in fiji. yes, the secret is out! jane is one of those 'born again christians'. think george bush and ned flanders and you'd be completely wrong. fiji is an absolutely beautiful country - until you get to the resort and find yourself immersed in western self-absorption and materialism. but back to the real country. sen-flippen-sational. if you've never been os you need to go. australia is 'the lucky country' as far as geographical wonderment, but try hanging out with genuine human beings for 2 weeks and you realise what's missing here- humanity! don't get your panties in a bunch if you are one of the few aussies with compassion and sensitivity. i have met a couple of you in the past 4 decades. yes i am talking generalities but the comments are valid none the less. fiji, the land of what's mine is yours; having all things in common. community. singing that pierces one's soul - ergo Paulini but to the power of 100!!! how blessed i was.
try talking to one of the 15 students (years 10-12) who went. they began as pussy cats and ended as lions. laughter, joy, friendship, community, heart, genuine, transparency, you first...
i hope i don't come down to earth with a thud. it is easy to get sucked in to the rat race, is it not? to anyone who is out there feeling like you are drowning or going nowhere, pray a prayer to the God who loves you enough to die for you.
